We are finishing up module 5 where we have worked on adding and subtracting numbers within 1,000 and we will take our final test tomorrow on the module. Please have students work on TenMarks to help them review the content that will be addressed in tomorrow's test. They must be able to solve 3-digit addition and subtraction problems using the different strategies we've learned: arrow way, number bond way, addition and subtraction algorithm, and compensation. Do no hesitate to contact me if you need an example of a strategy.
The upcoming Module 6 will be all about learning to count in arrays and repeated addition to set students up for multiplication.

We had a good turn out for the number of parents who showed up, so thank you to all the parents who were able to make it to Stagg yesterday for report card pick up. It was great to see everyone and be able to update you on your child's progress. Please feel free to contact myself or Ms. Suk if you still have any questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
For those of you who could not make it, please stop by the main office to collect your child's report card and please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Stagg will be on spring break for the week of April 10-14. School will resume Monday, April 17th at 8:45 a.m. There will be no homework assigned during spring break, but I strongly encourage all students to spend 20-30 minutes every day on TenMarks, IXL and Khan Academy to keep their skills sharpened. The websites are as follows:
www.tenmarks.com/login www.ixl.com/signin/stagg khanacademy.org/login Hello second grade parents! I must begin this first post with an apology; I haven't been the best with communication this year, so I am making amends to try and do better. I thought the best way to inform parents (while also conserving paper) would be to create a class website that I can update daily. So here is the finished product! Here you will find class updates, announcements, pictures, and homework. Please bookmark this website on your devices so you can keep abreast of what is happening in second grade.
Thank you, Ms. Lee |
